Project Objectives

Last year a good friend of mine passed away while participating in a disabled sporting tournament; a local project focused on increasing the quality of life for disabled athletes in our community. His fate could have been different with a a low cost monitor system. - Frank Dorval

Civic Need:

Real-time monitoring of health vitals is crucial for personal protection of our players. This is the first project of this type for disabled athletes participating in Sled Hockey, Wheel Chair Bascketball, and Murderball.

This is unique from the perspective that disabled athlete programs typically have limited funds. Quite honestly is is difficult to find funding to sustain the sports every year.

The monitoring system is compact and battery powered. Enabling it to attach to a sled or wheel chair or strapped directly to an individual. This is not a new concept. It is used in professional sports but current products are very expensive.
